Couldn't We All Be {Even a Little Bit} More Honest?

I've been marinating on honesty:

Being honest with others; being honest about others (as in, my experiences and relationships with others). Being honest with myself; being honest about myself (as in, for myself, and for others' experiences and relationships with me)...

Living honestly is steeped in the quality of being fair and truthful. Not glossing over things, not staying silent and allowing my quietude to replace my opinion, not leading from anyone else's expectations or societal norms.

Honest living requires knowing what is right for me, knowing what is good for me, knowing what is true for me. Before I can live it, I have to know it.

...and getting to know what is right, good, and true has involved some glorious faceplants...

As with most of the important work in our lives, we are never done. Never finished. There is no there there. (Read: more glorious faceplants await me. You, too, I'd imagine.)

Knowing that, I'm looking for the places where I can be more honest. Even just a little bit more honest. I think this, living steeped in the quality of being fair and truthful, has the potential to create sweeping changes for the good. And I'm always for sweeping changes for the good...
