On Making it Important

A treatise on making it important...

*It* being: more time for cooking, more quality time with your lover, more hours on your mat, more yes's to things you want hard (and more no's to things that smack of obligation or guilt), more of you.

If you don't make these things important, they won't be important.

Living from your core, your heart center, your inner truth means that the things that are important aren't question marks. They are unwavering priorities in your life. When you get numbed out and distracted, too busy and too fragmented, overwhelmed by life and ultimately underrate the potential at the core of yourself, then giant sacrifices are made where our most-important-things are concerned.

What is important to you about the joy in your life?

What is important to you about giving and receiving and being love?

What is important to you about the health of your mind and body and spirit?

What is important to you about knowing what it takes for you to become whole?

What is important to you about living your life in accordance with your inner truth? <----- Hint: this is the crux of the whole sh'bang.

Remind yourself of what your most-important-things are. You won't have to look far. Just get quiet enough to allow yourself to remember what they look like and feel like and smell like and taste like.

And know that, ultimately, if you don't make these things important, they won't be important. No one else can do that for you. Give yourself this gift.
