When We Try to Escape from Anxiety

This is part 3 of a 4-part series under the theme, "What is Anxiety?" and today we're talking about ESCAPE. Most of us don't like feeling negative emotions, so we try to resist them. And when anxiety flares up? We try to completely escape from it. Why would escape be a problem?

Today we are talking about escape. And where anxiety is concerned? We’ve all tried to escape.

This is part 3 of the 4-part series titled, “What is Anxiety?” These introductory episodes work together to create a solid foundation for all of the work that we’re going to do together and all of the tools that I’m going to be introducing as we move forward. You don’t necessarily have to go through the first 4 episodes in order, but it’ll be good to give them all a listen. :)

Join me in this episode to explore activities you might be using to escape, why this doesn’t work, what habits have to do with escape, and how you can distinguish escaping from everyday tasks and relaxation. This is an important episode!

As always, I have a downloadable worksheet for you to support you in finding where and how you escape from anxiety (or any other emotion!). Just click here to get free access to that now!

Next week we’ll get into what the heck we are supposed to do with anxiety: what IS the goal around anxiety, anyway? Subscribe to the pod so you’re the first one to get your hands on that episode…it’s a good one.

To listen in on iTunes, just click here. {And remember, if you’re feeling extra generous, please hit “subscribe” and leave me a rating and review! It helps me to get this podcast into the hands of everyone who is struggling with anxiety…and that’s the goal!}
